CDM Coordinator
“Constructing for a safer and better environment”
Construction is one of the most challenging industries to work in. The combination of the potential for health and safety harm and adverse environmental impact is a powerful one. Add to this the ever-changing legislative regime and a workplace motivated by faster, increased production and lower costs, the risks are even greater. However, working with professional designers, contractors and knowledgeable practitioners from the outset can help control health and safety.
CDM Co-ordinator
BSB Project Services Ltd are corporate members of the Association for Project Safety. Our highly experienced and qualified CDM Co-ordinators are able to advise on health and safety matters relating to construction projects and are able to undertake their role on all types of projects from inception through to completion.
The new role of CDM Co-ordinator has been created by CDM 2007. It is a wider role than that of the planning supervisor (which it replaces) and may be summed up as ‘The client’s adviser in matters relating to construction health and safety’. The role involves advising and assisting the client in undertaking the measures needed to comply with CDM 2007.
The CDM Co-ordinator provides clients with a key project advisor in respect of construction health and safety risk management matters. Their main purpose is to help clients to carry out their duties; to co-ordinate health and safety aspects of the design work and to prepare the health and safety file.
The Association for Project Safety (a Registered Company, Limited by Guarantee) provides a forum for all those individuals, organisations and relevant authorities involved in the supervision, management and education of health and safety practices, processes and procedures in the undertaking of construction projects as defined in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 [CDM2007] in order to develop, set and advance standards of excellence together with relevant support and educational services.
As a multi-disciplinary, advisory and representative body, the Association provides clients with a central source not only of information but also of practitioners who, as Registered Members, satisfy the standard required of CDM 2007 with regard to demonstrating competence
