A strong knowledge of sustainable design and qualified in-house Energy Assessors ensured the appointment of Browne Smith Baker for this redevelopment.
The proposed new housing development totals 80 bespoke units split into 42 houses and 38 apartments. The whole scheme is designed to meet code level 4 of the sustainable homes and the Northumbrian Water ‘Good Moves Protocol’. The units are also designed to meet Lifetime Homes and are flexible to adapt to changing circumstances.
The houses are orientated to make best use of the sun and light.
Whilst the scheme manages to achieve a good density it also retains a quality of open space through clever use of the levels and innovative landscaping.
