The English Partnerships brief for the Kingswood development was an incredibly prescriptive one, 99 new units, linking into an award winning first phase of development by a major house builder as well as having to delivering all units to the new English Partnerships Space and Quality Standards.
The entire scheme was designed to deliver a Building for Life Silver Award Standards and delivers a comprehensive mix of apartments, town houses and detached units. Twenty percent of the units are affordable and are all designed to be both tenure blind and mixed in groupings of no greater than six units to ensure maximum integration into the development.
The urban form created is highly oriented towards creating a safe and pedestrian permeable environment which takes the manual for Streets as current best practice. A strong sense of place is created by the architectural language and landscaping treatments which reflects the spirit and vision of the Phase 1 development.
