Interior division Portland Design transformed this Jesmond restaurant into a fine dinning experience, thanks to a major refurbishment project.
The new Cherry Tree Restaurant now appears twice the size of its predecessor due to the repositioning of the bar and the addition of a lounge and private dining area.
The ground and first floor dining areas have been opened up by removing part of the first floor creating a mezzanine.
Large angled mirrors create the feeling of space and bring both dining areas together. The interior fit-out is simple in its design with hardwood floors, painted panelled walls, plantation shutters, banquette seating and a sweeping elegant staircase. The stone fireplace is an effective focal point bringing warmth and comfort to the lounge area.
The bland frontage and external areas have been transformed with new signage and lighting highlighting the ‘The Cherry Tree’ and the Victorian Building which sits on the main road through Jesmond
