The brief was to convert a vacant unit, previously a pizza takeaway outlet on the seafront at Whitley Bay into a contemporary Italian Restaurant.
With a very narrow site and restricted budget the client’s brief included a rustic contemporary feel without the previously clichéd Italian restaurant themes.
The entire frontage of the premises was made into slide folding hardwood doors that opened outwards onto an external dining area which was previously the car park. The fit-out included a small bar, a greeting point, a 65 seated dining area, male/female toilets and trade kitchen and associated storage areas. New signage and lighting to the frontage gave the premises a new presence which stands out from all the other restaurants and takeaways.
