South Tees Eco Park is a £135 million development just off A19, the main arterial road of the North-East. South Tees Eco Park is design to serve the Teesside and North Yorkshire catchment areas and comprises the construction of a new waste treatment and waste management facility, combined heat and power plant, office and administration buildings, covered community recycling facililty for public and trade, external civil, landscaping and public realm works.
The main Treatment building is 250m long with Mechanical and Biological Waste Treatment plant situated on the ground floor with the separation plant located 10m above at first floor level. The office and administration blocks are formed from disused shipping containers linked together to provide strong prefabricated steel modules which can be combined to create a variety of building shapes, adapted to suit the site and end -user requirements. With fully glazed front facades, sleek lines and external decked walkways and balconies, this innovative and highly versatile system provides stylish and affordable office accommodation.
Each office will be given individuality by adopting different panel colours to create an attractive and exciting elevation treatment.
This modular technology enables construction times and cost to be reduced by up to half that of traditional building techniques while remaining significantly more environmentally friendly. There is sufficient additional space within the master plan to promote the concept of business clustering for waste orientated business within the Eco Park.
